⸺ THE DISCIPLINE

This is the lens behind everything I write and build: how stress, sensation and difference show up in the nervous system, and how understanding that changes the way we support each other.

Neuro-Wellness — understanding the mind as the starting point for compassion

⸺ WHAT IT MEANS

I use "neuro-wellness" to describe something specific: the practice of understanding neurodivergence and stress through the lens of neuroscience, rather than through behaviour alone. It's not a service I offer or a credential I hold — it's the discipline I bring to my writing, my research, and eventually my advocacy work.

For families like mine, this lens changes everything. It reframes a meltdown as sensory overload, a shutdown as a nervous system doing its best to cope, and a diagnosis — whether a child's or a parent's — as the start of understanding rather than the end of it.

⸺ CURRENT FOCUS

What I'm studying and reading right now

01

Sensory processing in autistic children

How sensory overload shows up differently across children, and what that means for the language we use to describe it.

03

Language, behaviour and communication

How the words we choose for behaviour shape how children come to see themselves.

02

The neuroscience of chronic stress

How stress compounds in the nervous system over years — the research question at the heart of the non-fiction book.

04

Family systems under diagnosis

How a diagnosis — a child's or a parent's — ripples through an entire family's sense of normal.
